More Cowbell

More Cowbell

The universe is the best. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell. And this June 4th, at the Lewis County Pride Picnic, I’ll be ringing in pride month by ringing the cowbell. I literally can not think of a better way to ring in pride month, and I feel genuinely honored to do so.

This is actually my very first pride event. And not only will I be ringing the bell, but I’m also a speaker, will be there with my books and I’ll be giving away stickers. There will be free food, raffles and prizes, music and an amateur drag show! So come see if I make Will Ferrell proud and come show your support for love.

As much as pride is fun and rainbow filled, I feel it important to return to the roots of the movement and why we celebrate pride; because so many still experience discrimination. Everyone should feel comfortable being who they are and loving who they love and until we are all safe to do so, none of us really are. So this pride month, wear your rainbows, parade in your parades and ring your cowbells, but also HEAL YOUR TRAUMAS. And do your best to help others do the same.

Love and let love.
